Naturalists & Birders

Our 40 acres is a deciduous dream, a botanist’s biome, a parkland playground, and a birder’s bliss.

Spotted so far:

Flora – Bur Oak, Trembling Aspen, Birch, Basswood, Wild Ginger, Wild Asparagus, Wild Grapes, Wild Plums, Chokecherries, Saskatoons, Hazelnuts, Sassafras, Stinging Nettle, Milkweed, Big Bluestem, Bloodroot.

Fauna – Deer, Fox, Racoons, Porcupines, Coyotes, Horses (across the road), owls, Swain son’s Hawk, Pileated and Downy Woodpeckers, Bald Eagles, American Goldfinches, Robins, Blue Jays, Orioles, Chickadees, Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, and a variety of unidentified moths and butterflies.
