Mosswood is located adjacent to the Birch Ski Area, which has some of the finest mountain biking, trail running, and cross-country skiing trails in Manitoba, and is home to one of only two biathlon ranges in the province. (see blog post Trail Maps) Athletes from across the province come to Birch in search of a rare commodity in this province: hills.  Because of this, Birch was the 1999 Pan American Games Mountain Biking Venue, and it has hosted countless Provincial Championships in both mountain biking and cross-country skiing.  If you like to stay on the pavement while cycling, the PR245, from Roseisle to Notre Dame, has been the course for the Road Provincials on multiple occasions.  2 miles north and 2 miles west of Mosswood, is the Pumpkin Creek Ski Club, which also has about 20km of great classic tracks.  XC Skis can be rented at Pumpkin Creek but not at Ski Birch.  There are also endless options for gravel bike rides.  If you want to give snowshoeing a try, we have two kids’ pairs and two adult pairs.
